How I was Murdered by a Monster King Chapter 13

Daisuke here. Last time we met I joined a secret organization of exorcists who hunt down evil monsters which are disguised as regular animals. My training was going great until a super powerful fox monster attacked and my teacher tried to kill me. Now my friends and the organization are accusing me of being a monster in human form, but that can’t be possible, can it?

Chapter 13

I thought it was pointless to continue the whole super exorcist routine, so I decided to come clean to my friends. I already felt bad about lying to Shuro and everyone at school, so the least I could do was be honest with the people who actually knew about monsters. Mana and Nina looked a little taken back, Kurumi was as impassive as always, but Taisei and Kiyori just stared at me in awe like I was a brand new toy.

"It talks," said Kiyori as he poked me with a stick like I was an exotic insect.

"Hey stop it!" I said while trying to fend of his assault with my arm.

"You guys don't hate me?"

Writing is a pretty hard way of earning money. Both for myself and everyone. Like most arts, it takes a lots of time and work to break through, which means very very little money until you finally make it.

If you've enjoyed reading my free content then why not buy me a coffee? It really helps to support my writing, and help pay for printing all those drafts.

Differences between “How I was Murdered by a Fox Monster” and “The Monster Exorcist”

Recently I’ve been receiving a lot of downloads for my free story The Monster Exorcist so I thought that I better clear up the differences between it and How I was Murdered by a Fox Monster.

I originally wrote How I was Murdered by a Fox Monster back in 2012. I wanted to write a story about hero, who is actually a monster, and a bunch of his friends. I live in central Japan, so I based it mostly off my own life and things and people that I encountered while living in here.

It took about six months to write (I was single with plenty of time) and like most self-published stories it didn’t really get anywhere. I didn’t feel confident enough to put any money behind it, so I decided to just offered it up for free on a bunch of sites. Some of you may have even downloaded the book for free.

Somewhere in 2014 I decided that perhaps my book was too Japanese for English speaking audiences, so I decided to try rewriting it with more Western Style names. Set in some random English speaking place with I never specify. I also decided that the name was a little long and confusing, so I renamed my new version The Monster Exorcist. I didn’t make too many changes to the story, other than removing some Japanese references. There is also an extra chapter to the end of the story, which really wasn’t that well written, so I decided not to add it to How I was Murdered by a Fox Monster.

How I was Murdered by a Monster King Chapter 12

My training was going great until a super powerful fox monster attacked and my teacher tried to kill me. Now my friends and the organization are accusing me of being a monster in human form, but that can’t be possible, can it?

Chapter 12

"Daisuke!" Yelled Akito as he knocked on the door. "I know you're in there. You can't keep hiding forever!"

"Yes I can!" I yelled back.

"No you can't, we all have to use the bathroom eventually!"

"No you don't!" I said. "You can just all go outside. It's better for the environment, and just think about the money you can save on power and water."

"Do you really think the girls would agree to that?"

Final Fantasy X-2.5 ~Eien no Daishō~" A rough translation. Part 4

Part: 1, 2, 3

Disclaimer: I am not an official translator. I have a degree in Japanese, and lived in Japan for years, but I'm still not perfect. I'm going to try my best to translate all the dialogue, but there were some vague or difficult descriptions that I decided to skip, and sentences that I decided to swap for more natural English equivalents. I also added a few "he said, she said" to make it easier to tell who's speaking. Please think of this as a rough translation and don't treat it like it 100% accurate.

Please link back to this page if you use the information from the translation, and support Final Fantasy by buying the official translation if it becomes available.

Part: 1, 2, 3

On the road, between entering the bay and arriving at the boat the Aurochs excitedly talked about playing a game of Blitzball. However Keepa announced a race to the bay. Using his expression to try and provoke them.

Tidus agreed, but what he thought of while vigorously chasing them down the hill…….was of course Yuna.

She might be looking for me now. Maybe I should have stayed in the village.

How I was Murdered by a Monster King Chapter 11

My training was going great until a super powerful fox monster attacked and my teacher tried to kill me. Now my friends and the organization are accusing me of being a monster in human form, but that can’t be possible, can it?

Chapter 11

Akito was trapped between a rock and a hard place, or more precisely trapped between my sister, Nina's brother, and the exorcist organization. The organization still called on a weekly basis to check up on me, and Nina's brother often made threats about telling Shinta the truth. Sis in return often made threats about smothering Nina's brother in his sleep, but Akito refused to follow through with her plan. Having to pacify all three of them was taking its toll on my teacher. He'd also been wearing the same clothes for a week and grown an inch long beard.

To make matters worse, most of his scriptures and materials had been shredded by the fox monster, so he had to painstakingly tape them back together one page at a time.

I decided that the best way to help Akito reassemble all his stuff (and uncover the origins of my awesome powers) would be to ask "are you finished yet" every time I saw him. I thought it was a great way to motivate him to finish faster, until Akito snapped and slammed his study door in my face.

Sis suggested that it would be better to sit down and help him, but I was too busy hanging out with my friends and testing my new powers. Akito also seemed to be doing fine on his own. He'd taken to multi-tasking, and could be seen taping his files back together while watching everyone train, while holding meetings, and while eating breakfast. Sure his face looked tired and joyless, but Akito was always stern so I couldn't see much of a difference.

I watched him tiredly tape a page back together at lunch, and I took a seat at the kitchen table opposite him. Akito liked to eat sugar with his cereal, but that afternoon he reached for the sugar bowl and poured the whole thing into his cornflakes without noticing. He then began to slowly munch on it without any reaction.

The eternal Calm, Sphere hunters, and Gullwings.” In the beginning he listened while asking questions, but he gradually became jealous of how Rikku could easily talk of names and events unknown to him.
“At least it sounds like fun,” said Tidus.

“Hey, you got a problem with that?” questioned Rikku.

“I’ve got nothing that I can talk about. It sucks a bit… I mean... we haven’t met for two years, and I’ve got nothing to tell you. What the Hell was I doing?”

“Chilling out,” said Paine suddenly with a chuckle. It seemed like she was trying to joke. She had a point. It wasn’t like he was going to understand anything by talking about it there.

How I was Murdered by a Monster King Chapter 10

Daisuke here. Last time we met I joined a secret organization of exorcists who hunt down evil monsters which are disguised as regular animals. My training was going great until a super powerful fox monster attacked and my teacher tried to kill me. Now my friends and the organization are accusing me of being a monster in human form, but that can’t be possible, can it?

Chapter 10

"Despite spending over three weeks in isolation for Ebola, local high school student Daisuke Matsumoto, has made a miraculous recovery and gone on to come first in the local high school three hundred meter sprint. He also broke the record set by ex-Olympic gold medalist Charles Thomas in 1961. Daisuke always sleeps in class and sits out during P.E, so I didn't even know that he could run, said one student. He ran fast, almost too fast, said another. Daisuke is a great example of what you can achieve by just having a go, said his homeroom teacher. I hope his effort will motivate other students to participate more. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS CRAP!" Screamed my sister as she threw the newspaper down on the table in front of me.

Despite my best efforts to conceal the truth from my sister, I had forgotten that the local paper had decided to run an article on my spectacular victory. They even printed a photo of me receiving my trophy at the school assembly. I was probably the only kid at school who had to lie to their family about doing well at sports.

"I've never won anything in my life!" I said while hugging my trophy to my chest like a teddy bear. "You can't take this away from me!"

Shuro wanted to take me out for hamburgers to celebrate, so he was a little taken back by my sister's furious attitude.

"What's with you Kanako?" Asked Shuro. "He won a race, you should be congratulating him, not laying into him."

Great videos to help with writing!

I, like most self published writers, and always looking for free resources and videos to help me learn to write better. Most writers are poor, and don't have a lot of time due to other work commitments, so I often search YouTube for anything that can help.

I recently discovered Terrible Writing Advice and I think that it's hilarious. I love their videos and it gives great advice on what you shouldn't do when writing stories. Here are some of my personal favourites which can hopefully help you with your writing.

Here is a great one about character development.

Here's one about writer's block.

Evil empires

Chosen ones

And taking criticism. One of the hardest things to do as an author.

April Writing update

Hello and welcome to my April writing update. These are posts that I do once a month to talk about my writing progress and life in general.

I recently wrote and posted some extra material for my story How I was Murdered by a Fox Monster. You can check out the extra chapter that comes after book two here. I also drudged up a short piece written by the point of view of Shiki Moriyama about how he created his famous attack that you can read here. It stars Shiki, Akito, Nina's Bro and Kanako back when they were young, so you can get some great insight into their dynamic. I also posted some pictures I have of Japan which you can find here.

The extra chapter is part of my How I was Murdered by a Fox Monster 3 project, and can also be called Daisuke gets a girlfriend. I felt a little sorry for him and the way that he always fails to get the girl, so I wanted him to succeed at least once. I have some ideas for Daisuke's next story, so I hope to post some chapters when I next get the chance.

As for ebook sales, they haven't been going anywhere recently. Mainly because I haven't been investing any time or money towards marketing. Out of all the paid advertisement programs I've tried so far, I've had the most success with Amazon's ad program, so I hope to invest a little in that again once I have the time to set it up properly. I currently don't have a copywriter (other than me) so I want to scan my products for any mistakes again before I put them up for sale.

I always thought that the most successful books were the ones which were the best written, but now it seems that's not always the case. Often the best selling books are the ones which companies have put the most money behind in terms of advertisements and marketing.

I want to try writing more in the upcoming months. I have some free time because I chose not to renew my contract because I became pregnant.

I'm getting old, and it was my plan to have a kid, so I'm greatly looking forward to the birth, but going through pregnancy is defiantly a lot harder than I expected. I thought that I could be like Serena Williams and still remain active, healthy, and continue on with my main job, but in reality it was more like a scene from the other Bolyn girl where I had to remain in bed for a week due to complications.

My health seems fine now, but I can no longer work at the same pace that I had before. I used to work about three jobs. I've really had to cut back and have decided not to renew my contract, leaving me with a few months of unemployment before any type of maternity leave kicks in. The child will still be too young to enter day care when my maternity leave finishes, so I may also have a few more months of unemployment before returning to work.

If I hadn't planned for a situation like this and saved money, I would defiantly be in a financial black hole. If I had a wedding ceremony and expensive honeymoon, instead of skipping it and saving the money for a baby I would have also been screwed. I have also read many posts by other women in similar, or worse situations, and have been plunged into sudden poverty because they could not continue working due to pregnancy complications. I can really see why women chose not to, or delay having children. Even in 2019 it's still a punch to your career. If my husband and I were younger and didn't have money saved, I'm not sure how we would have coped.

Due to having no job or income at the moment, I really need to invest in some free hobbies to I hope to continue writing more over the upcoming months. I also previously started writing translations for the final fantasy novel so I hope to write and post more of those when the writer's block strikes.

Not earning enough money from AdSense? Why not give Chitika a go as well?
