Tales From a Land of Gods P1 Ch3

Meng had reached his limit. He felt like the trees were closing in on him, and he suspected that the mortal's internal compass was a trick to prevent him from leaving. He found the strange woman's presence irritating, and he could no longer deal with her slow pace and painful attempts at conversation.
It was time to part ways with his new traveling companion, and he wanted to do so as soon as possible.
Meng had everything prepared when they stopped to rest for the night. He even made a fire in the hope that it would cause the woman to feel drowsy and nod off sooner. Unfortunately, Lucy mistook his actions as kindness, and proceeded to talk even more. She was telling him all about her favorite variety of mushroom, when she finally removed her bamboo hat to unveil a bald head (which was also partially covered in bandages) and placed it on top of her bags.
Meng sat with his chin resting on his hands, and watched her across the fire. He was waiting in anticipation for the moment when she would lose consciousness, but to his dismay, she merrily clapped her hands instead of lying down to sleep.
I tell sleepy time story,” she said with a bright smile.

The Monster Exorcist/ HIWMBAFM June Update

With 100 pages down and loads more to go, the sequel is currently in progress. There are so many new characters and scenes that I'm excited to write, so I hope you have as much fun reading it as I did writing it all.

I offered the original version of How I was Murdered by a Fox Monster on many ebook websites, and I still occasionally get emails asking about part 2, so I am considering offering two versions. The Monster Exorcist 2, and How I was Murdered by a Fox Monster 2 with all the original names and so on. HIWMBAFM did not have the last chapter, so that last chapter will be included at the beginning of the second part of HIWMBAFM 2.

They will both be the same price and offered at the same stores. so please don't buy both of them thinking that they are completely different stories.

Tales from a Land of Gods P1 Ch2

Being the protagonist of this story, Meng was completely unaware of the life shaping events which were to follow, and was instead thinking murderous thoughts about his new traveling companion. She seemed immune to Meng's death stares, and he turned to glare at her once more, only to find Lucy smiling broadly from ear to ear. He'd made several attempts to pick up speed and lose her behind the trees, but every time the old woman would throw her unsightly god instrument into the ground and send him hurling into the bushes.
“Enough with you and your infernal staff!” He yelled after being sent into a tree for the seventh time.
It not staff!” She said. “It hammer.
“Like a hammer against my skull,” muttered Meng, who rubbed his bruised and battered nose. He picked himself up and brushed the dirt from his clothes (which was beginning to accumulate to his own disgust). He didn't wish to damage his clothing any further, and he began walking at a slow pace which the hag could easily follow, only to be thrown by another shock wave into the bushes once more.
“What's wrong with you! You insufferable mortal!” Meng yelled in protest. “I slowed down to your ridiculously lethargic speed, and yet you still torment me!”

The Monster Exorcist Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Click here to check out the previous chapters

Flash forward to ten years later and I was happily dreaming away until my pleasant sleep was destroyed by my alarm. I cracked my eyes open to make sure it was daytime, and flinched at the sunlight which had infiltrated my bedroom. I attempted to muster up the energy to get out of bed, but I was dead to the world until my snooze alarm rang.

I rolled out of bed and fell to the floor with a bang, completely unaware that I wasn't going to live to see the end of the year. My eyes glanced at the photo of Grandpa and I (which I had beside my bed) and I suddenly remembered what I had dreamed about. My adopted grandfather. It was odd that I'd dreamed about Grandpa. There was once a time when I used to think of him everyday. Sometimes to the point where I would begin to cry, only to be consoled by my older sister (who would often cry as well). After entering middle school my life had become so much busier with homework, friends, and high school entrance exams. So I hadn't stopped to dwell on the man who adopted me almost ten years ago.

Tales From a Land of Gods Part 2 update!

You can find out more about my story "Tales From a Land of Gods" and even a few samples on the above tab on my website.

If you are reading this update, it's because you've taken an interest in my story "Tales From a Land of Gods," and you should, please go read more about it. I finished part one a few years ago, and you can currently get a copy for free from many different ebook websites, and I will be posting a lot of part 1 on this website as well.

At the moment I have just been writing the story in short segments, but I have a longer and more epic story all planned out in my head which I have been thinking about over the past few years. Unfortunately I just haven't had the time to finish writing it all out. I blame it all on having to work to pay rent and so on. If you have ever tried to become a writer or artist you will know that it's very hard to make any money at first.

If you would like to see part 2 finished faster, you can also support me by buying my work, recommending it to your friends, or sharing it on social media. Part 1 is currently free, so just writing a positive review on Smashwords, Barnes and Noble, or Goodreads is a GREAT help to me and will hopefully increase sales. You can also check or recommend my other story The Monster Exorcist as well. I also entered it into an affiliate program so that you can earn some money if you help sell it.

Tales From a Land of Gods Part 1 Chapter 1

 Foreword

Hey, you! The one holding the book. Yes, you. Stop looking around like that, you're only embarrassing yourself. I was hoping for someone more open minded, but you look like you have your wits about you, so I suppose you'll have to do.

No, don't turn away from me!

I've got a story, well at least a dozen stories, and I've been dying to tell somebody, so you're not going anywhere until I'm through! What kind of story? You ask. Well, it's about the gods of course!

You're no doubt familiar with Hercules and the gods of Olympus, the Australian aboriginal dreamtime stories, and the bloodthirsty Aztec gods. They've appeared in various tales throughout the ages, and even a toddler could name at least one.

Hey, there's no need to yawn like that!  I know you've heard them all before, but what I'm here to tell you is that the gods are real.

The Monster Exorcist Chapter 2

 Chapter 2

I was five years old sitting in my Grandfather's study watching as he dusted the shelves. I used to follow him like a shadow back then. Normally he'd try to keep me amused by pulling funny faces or putting duster on his head and pretending to be a peacock, but that day was different. That day he was a man on a mission and there was nothing to laugh about.
"Do you remember what I told you about monsters Michael?" He asked.
Monsters? I thought to myself. I stared up at my grandfather who was patiently waiting for an answer. I tilted my head and racked my brain for an answer, but my mind came up blank.
"Monsters?" I questioned while wondering if he was referring to the monsters in my picture book.
He sighed and returned his attention to the bookshelf in front of him. Grandpa's study was amazing back then. It was full of numerous books and scriptures, some of them hundreds of years old. He scanned his fingers over the old volumes until he found what he was looking for. He pulled out a worn looking book and began to flip through the pages.
"Real monsters," he said. "Are animal spirits that inhabit this world. We talked about this the other day, does it ring any bells Michael?”

Although things are initially great for Jordan, his illegal tacts result in him having to leave his company and his drug use slowly become out of control until Jordan hits an all time low when he becomes addicted to cocaine.

The Monster Exorcist Chapter One

Chapter 1

“Michael Matsumoto!” Sang a young woman's beautiful voice. Her words bounced off the walls and echoed throughout our dark and silent home. Normally I'd be overjoyed to hear a pretty girl call my name, but the sound of her voice sent nothing but terror down my spine.

“It's her, she's coming,” whispered Akito. I expected my teacher to be freaking out in terror like me, but his black eyes were calm and his brow was narrowed in concentration.

“But Annie!” I hissed hysterically. “We have to help Annie!”

I couldn't forget the image of Annie lying face down unconscious on the floor. Her short black hair was messed up and bloody, and she looked like a broken doll beyond repair. The cute girl who helped me on several occasions could be moments away from death if someone didn't aid her soon. I jumped up and attempted to climb over the desk we were hiding behind in Akito's office, but Akito quickly grabbed my shirt and pulled me back.

“Don't worry about her! There's nothing we can do now!” He hissed.
